Now that you have your fab Fall essentials at the ready, you need to start stocking up on great accessories to complete your looks! Of course you want to focus on basics such as: scarves, hats and gloves; but don’t be afraid to let your inner fashionista shine through with your color, pattern and texture choices. One snag people tend to run into during the more chilly months is thinking that you can only wear boring solids, in boring muted colors. Not to say that’s not a good choice, but you can do better! Winter is already drab enough, branch out! Grab that forest green knit scarf or the deep red earmuffs instead of staying inside the lines with blacks, grays and browns.

Another great rule of thumb is to make sure that you don’t over do it. No one wants to channel A Christmas Story and be trapped under too many layers after your 5th peppermint white mocha. Make good, cozy choices. Be practical and keep in mind that it might be a piercing 40 degrees outside but you’ll take your gorgeous camel coat off in the comfy 82 degree heat inside. Your basics will keep you cozy outside but your accessories make the outfit. 

Finally, Fall is just around the corner! And I can already feel the tights on my legs, and mittens around my coffee mug, I just cannot wait another second! With the pre-Fall lines just starting to come to a store near you the urge to layer is getting stronger and stronger. As the cold weather sneaks up on us, its super important to make sure you’re getting your Fall essentials in order. Having the right staples in your Fall wardrobe will make your everyday dress so much more effortlessly stylish and easy to switch up with fabulous accessories, all the while staying comfy and cozy as all winter ensembles should. For me, growing up in California there was more an idea of Fall rather than an actual season, so, I welcome the chilly weather of the North Caroliona with open cardigan-covered arms and a hot chocolate-mustached smile!
